Default Clicking

I noticed yesterday in reverse while backing up. My 2016 5.0 4x4 made a clicking sound. But only as I was moving. This morning temp in the low 30’s it’s doing it in drive. But seems to stop at speeds over 30 mph. After driving to town it’s still making that sound. Any ideas thanks

Something to try (although I think the symptom is usually described as grinding, not clicking), put the truck in 4H, drive in a straight line, does the sound go away?

It’s not grinding it’s a ticking clicking sound that’s faster than the movement of the truck. But I will try putting it in 4x4 after bit.

NO clue then. Had a previous F-150 that had a very hard to diagnose clicking sound. Turned out to be the e-brake pad that had disconnected from the backing and was clicking on the inside of the rotor. Just had rusted apart. But obviously that shouldn't be an issue with only 5200 miles and 2ish years old.

No its louder and is a click click click. I would call that sound a fluttering to my ears.
If i had to point my finger at it it was under my feet drivers side.

Heres a spin on the problem. My wife had some test done. The truck was parked 3.5 hours. The outside temp rose to id say 50 by then. No noise what so ever. I drove it a good bit and washed spraying underneath good. And nothing.

It almost sounded like a rock was rolling in a plastic cup.

Found it i hope anyway. After i eat a bite i crawled under it and the first thing i see is a stick sticking up under a heat shield . My guess is it was hitting on the drive shaft. Making the clicking sound. Why only when it was cold dont know. And when i pulled in the hospital it was a sharp turn and i had to gun it a little bit. Maybe it moved or a piece broke off. The stick was about 3 foot long.

Thanks for all the help Anyway

I wish all my problems was just a stick LOL.
