Anyone have one of these. I found one on a 2014. It blends in real nice with the grill. You hardly notice it, but I wonder how much it really helps. The window sticker said it was a $150.00 accessory- Ouch. I'm assuming they are, or will be, available on the 2015's.

 

I almost went and bought a bug guard. after researching it and asking several people and service reps. they mention it doesn't do a whole lot for bugs, just prevent some rock chippings. other than that just for looks.

 

I would be happy if it prevented a few chips on the hood. I didn't figure it would do much for bugs.

 

I think you would be happier with a clear bra (3m film protector, or similar product).

I had the factory ford Chrome shield on my 09 F150 and plan to buy the chrome shield for my new 2015. It's not great as far as a bug shield goes but I like the looks of it with the chrome package on the truck.

That said if anyone has a line on where to get the new chrome shield please share it with me. Dealer told me it's not available but according to Boatmans pics that can't be LOL

Got mine today, Ford part #FL3Z*16C900*B, paid $107.03 on Fordparts.com T.P.

 

Here in AZ I got rocks tossed at me 5-10 times a day on the highways. It's ridiculous. I replace a few windshields a year when they finally spiderweb out. Last one was put in a month ago. have 5 chips in windshield already. I should get a bug shield.

 

Wow are these available to select from the Build page. Or at the dealership?

 

Bought the shield from the dealers parts department. # that Valkrietp listed in a previous post. Installed myself.
