Default Chevy Bent Tailgate attack ad

Granted this is another cheap shot from Chevy trying to rescue their poor sales - but still begs the question if there's any truth in this? Was this addressed with the newer generation trucks?

It's an older video and that's an F-250. But yes, it's extremely accurate and Ford claimed the frame was designed to flex in order to prevent stress fractures. Truth? IDK, but they've boxed the frame on the 17 Super Duty'a so I don't buy that excuse.

I'd say there was some truth to it. Both Ram and GM had heavier HD frames before the latest Superduty redesign. Competition is a good thing. We all win in the long run.

I have to disagree with your statement about poor sales of Chevy trucks. They have made a lot of inroads into Ford's dominant position in sales, especially if you consider total truck sales instead of just Chevy. Ford is late to the game bringing back a mid-size pickup so they will have a tough time catching up when the Ranger does come back. I own Ford stock so I hope they maintain the dominant position!

Anyone see the commercial with the bricks and toolbox dropped in the bed?

I really don't buy the toolbox thing, but who knows. And who would drop bricks in their truck like that!?!

Haha! I remember Ford making the same frame rigidity boasts a few years ago comparing the F150 to the Tundra.

Howie is such a liar, he's never done that with a truck.
