Default Check engine light remote start disable

Had a check engine light today something to do with the catalyst system. Probably from the cold and idling too much.

Is is there a way to turn off the disabled remote start when a check engine light is present?

Might just be me but that doesn't seem like a wise thing to do.

I had this happen on my 2013 fx4 and it was a mass airflow sensor that blew just after the guarantee was up. Really pissed me off. I was told that if "check engine" light goes on, the remote start is disabled no matter what the code. No idea if you can disable it but I don't think that would be wise.

On the '15+ trucks there is a evap code that will cause this.. P2450. . while it is active the remote start will not work. If you have FORScan you can clear the code and it may or may not come back on. If it is the P2450 the repair is covered under warranty.

Not sure if the Ford's work like my Grand Cherokee did but any check engine or low fuel light would cancel the remote start about 5 seconds after it started.

Here's the TSB for the P2450 DTC on 2015 2.7L equipped F150s.

If it's not the P2450 code, and you supply me with the DTC and your particular engine, I will be glad to do some research.

Do you remember the specific DTC? What engine? What year?
