Default Check Engine Light/code P0175

Yesterday, I got into my truck and upon starting it, got a CEL. I pulled out my code reader and it gave me a P0175 Bank 2 System Too Rich error code. The truck seems to run fine. I figure this is something I need to have the dealer look at as a warranty repair, but I'm wondering how urgent it is to get it in. The next couple days look to be super busy and if I could wait to have them look at it, my life would be simpler. I don't want to grenade a new truck's engine, though...

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

ATM you should be fine to run it until you can get it looked at. Just keep an eye on it. It's possible you may never see that code again.

Just out of curiosity are you running reg or premium gas?

Most likely it is a failing sensor, but if it's actually running rich, you will kill the catalytic pretty quick, and those are nowhere near cheap. I'd take it in ASAP.

Very true but right now it's Ford's dime being a 2019...

I run 91 or 93 octane about 80% of time. It has 93 in there now.

I'd clear it, and see if it comes again. If it does, meaning not a fluke, then I'd have it checked asap. Good luck.

Do you have a tune on the truck?

No tune on the truck, it's running stock. Truck was purchased new in late July and has less than 7500 miles on it.

The code actually shows up as 2 identical codes, except one has a "pending" note at the bottom of the screen and the other says "confirmed" (see pic).

I still wouldn't drive it a long time with the CEL on. The computer reports how many miles it's driven with the CEL on. If the cat converter is destroyed because of the problem Ford may say it's not our fault you drove it 1,000 miles with the CEL on.

Also, if you cold start it then shut it down then cold start it again you can get this code. The computer dumps a lot of fuel for cold starts and if it doesn't run long enough to burn it off and get temperature up another cold start is going to dump more gas in and the computer will read it running rich.

I’ve cleared the code. I’ll see if it returns and head to the dealer if it does. Crossing my fingers...
