Default Check Engine Light Came on - Code P0020

Just got the check engine light came on while I was driving. Got out the code scanner and it read P0020. The truck ran perfectly normal with the check engine light on solid.
A P0020 code refers to the VVT (variable valve timing) or VCT (variable camshaft timing) components and the car's PCM (powertrain control module) or ECM (engine control module). VVT is a technology used in the engine to allow it to get greater power or efficiency at different running points.

Been doing some research on the code P0020 but can't find any answers on how to fix the problem. If anyone of you have the code before, please tell me where I should start looking. I have a 2015 3.5 EB XLT with only 16K miles. Thanks

Saw this code a few years back on my 2009 F150 4x4 5.4L and became concerned. In my case, the resulting research found that this code sometimes trips a CEL when the battery power is low or weak. I had just finished replacing the battery, so I cleared the code and waited for it to return. It never did.

Don't know if this will tell you anything helpful. but according to https://www.tat.net.au/scandata/wiki...rd_Fault_Codes that code is the Intake camshaft position actuator circuit (bank 2)

Thanks. This doesn't sound like a easy fix. Truck is out of warranty unfortunately.

It depends... it could be a crimped wire, bad sensor, or a totally failed solenoid.

I have a 3.5Eco also, not sure if this info helps you or not, but when I installed a catch can a few months ago, I had accidentally knocked loose a small sensor under the engine cover and it gave me a similar code "p0013B Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 1)"

Don't know if you've been under your hood but may be worth a check (though opposite side if your error is the other bank)

Nobolexsc. You're absolutely correct !!! That same sensor but on the driveway side in front of the oil cap was loose. I can see some oil stain on the surface. I plugged it back in and now no more CEL !! Thank you so much for your help and thanks everyone for chiming in.

Default Check Engine light and P0020 code looking for sensor part number

Hello I'm new to this forum: Have a 2010 F150 with 5.4L engine with check engine light on. Scanner says code P0020 cam shaft position sensor bank 2. Is bank 2 the drivers side?

I unplugged both banks and put back cleared the code and let the engine run a bit. Light has not come on yet but haven't been on the road yet.

Has anyone ever replaced this sensor. Is it easy. It looks very easy but I don't know how long it is. If it's too long then it won't come out.

Anyone know the part number of the sensor? Cost? Can I get this at a local auto parts store or do I have to go to the dealer?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Best Regards,
