check engine
Dang got two
P2007 Intake manifold stuck closed
P0012 Timing retarded Bank 1
Cleared the codes to see which one came back first. The CEL has not come back on yet in 30 miles.
Can definitely tell the engine is not getting air when you get on it a little. Looks like the F150 has definately gone up on the crazy hot matrix and I'm getting ready to spend some coin.
Question: if the Phaser is clogged with oil triggering the 012 code would running some seafoam or engine cleaner possible clean that up and getting it working properly again? Or once they are clogged they are done? i have about 2,000 miles on the current oil.

If the light went away then the oil problem will go away soon too.
This is a fun game! Thanks for introducing it.
Do you use an oiled air filter? Regardless of the answer, perhaps you have an air flow issue, inspect the filter and beat out the dirt if it looks dirty.

Check your engine wiring harness for damage. Rodents love these wires.
P2007 - Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Closed Bank-2
Description:
This DTC sets when the IMRC is commanded open and the intake manifold runner control bank 2 (IMRC2) sensor indicates the IMRC is closed.
Possible Causes:
- IMRC circuit open
- IMRC2 circuit open
- IMRC2 circuit short to voltage
- Damaged IMRC actuator
- Damaged IMRC solenoid
Description:
This DTC sets when the VCT position is over-retarded. This DTC sets when the camshaft timing exceeds a maximum calibrated value or remains in a retarded position.
Possible Causes:
- VCT unit to camshaft alignment
- Camshaft timing incorrectly set
- Continuous oil flow to the VCT piston chamber
- Erratic camshaft position due to low oil pressure
- Oil flow restriction in the oil passages or the VCT valve body
- Variable Camshaft Timing Bank-1 Solenoid-1 (VCT11) valve stuck open
- VCT11 circuit open
- VCT11 circuit short to voltage
- VCT11 circuit short to ground
- VPWR circuit open
- Camshaft advance mechanism binding (VCT unit)
- Damaged VCT11 phaser
- Damaged Camshaft Position Bank-1 Sensor-1 (CMP11)
- CMP11 sensor circuits open
- CMP11 sensor circuits short to voltage
- CMP11 sensor circuits short to ground
- Radio frequency interference
Not not an oiled air filter. 130,000 miles.
I have been getting the issue off and on where occasionally after running hard on the freeway and you exit and come to a stop light it idles rough or dies. But then runs fine. Most of my research tells me this is a fuel recycle purge valve but could also be related to VCT solenoids.

For the 2007 code, there are two controllers on the rear of the intake manifold, one for each bank.
For the 12 code, the VCT operates off oil pressure gated by a sensor under PCM control.
It could be the sensor, VCT wear, oil viscosity or a combination of these.
Everyone wants an easy fix to complicated systems.
There are none 99% of the time but work at diagnostics and a process of elimination to get to a proper repair and accept this this is the way it goes, now.
These vehicles are 100 times more sensitive to oil maintenance intervals and care, as opposed to the old ones of 25 years ago.
.
My 2002 4.6L has 321,000 miles plus and can go another 50k but the rear of the frame has rusted beyond state inspection limits, so I made the decision to purchase a later model to get out of the same issue over again 1 or 2 years later, if I fixed the frame and the engine or trans gave up.
Looking back, it was the right decision for my age.
Bottom line is you have to be realistic about it and not fool self!
Good luck.
