Default ** Check Break System **

2017 F150 3.5 Ecoboost FX4 88k miles - I have a weird issue. This only happens when using cruise control at highway speeds. I get the Check break system notification and the break light blinking. The codes are P0556 and P050F. I took into dealership and they replaced the brake boost pressure sensor. I don't drive much so that was a few weeks ago. Now its doing it again. I think it might be the Power Break Booster, anyone else have this issue before ?

Clearly there's a problem, because "Check Break System" has never been displayed on any vehicle...

@1_Alibi_2 I'm starting to think it might be the break booster from similar issues I've read in other vehicles. Disconnecting the booster from the break pedal looks like it might be a pain in the ***. Dealer wants $650 for parts and labor to do the job. The part is $97 from ford online.

Or just look at the spelling on the dash warning in the OP photo.

so hold up do you have any braking issues. IE does it stop well, is the pedal spongy, do you see leaks, does it brake harder on one side etc.

what were the codes again. I'm look at a potential wiring issue is the brakes work fine. also check your fluid while mucking around. is it at the level - as low brake fluid is also an indicator you need new pads. completely unrelated there but at 88K miles it might be time for that.

Note also it only happens under cruise control - that sound alot like a wiring or even module issue. One other thing you might have a vacuum leak - sensor for vacuum in the brake booster might be reading a loss a min throttle due to a hose leak
