This part is the best about drain valves.

Also, any adapters you attach, always remember to remove them when not draining, asking for failure otherwise.

Just changed my oil for the first time. 2022 F150 5.0. First experience I have ever had where the oil starts to drain/leak as soon as plug is loosened. Is this common with this plug and pan combination?

My state does nothing for free. There`s a fee for everything.

I was thinking the 3.5L Duratec in my wifes old 13 Taurus was the easiest oil change I've done for the same rears you think your edge was easy.

My 18 F150 5L is easier than my wifes 17 F150 3.5L. If not for the depend then the 3.5L would be an easier oil change. Neither are that hard with a few basic tools. I do them on the ground, on my back. The worst think IMO is removing the depend. A cordless drill and socket would make it a lot faster/easier.

Ford should've designed the cover to allow an oil change without needing to remove the depend.
