Default changed my grill

Like many who have gone before, I changed over to the STX grill. Job was surprisingly easy after watching a bunch of videos on it. A couple of the clips where problematic, mostly because they come off with the lower trim, but should be removed and attached to the wheel well trim before replacing. Otherwise, a decent job, got to enjoy some nice weather today and I was done in a little over an hour. Thanks to those who have documented this before!

Don't go letting that screen door open too fast and scratch up that truck!

Replaced one kind of ugly for another kind of ugly. ‘18 and newer grilles suck.

I actually never liked the look of the 2015-2017 as it looks like the old base no option fleet trucks to me but that's just my opinion and probably why I got a 2018. To each their own.

Looks good. I did something similar but I like your original grill. Mine is just an XL.

Get you a strip of foam insulation with the sticky-back tape, and run it up vertically on that storm door edge and wrapping around the door edge itself... “just in case” it ever gets opened and hits the fender, it may prevent some damage. Or at the very least, it can mitigate it. You can buy it in varied thicknesses and widths, and using a little patience, it can be trimmed and installed so it’s hardly noticeable.

Don’t ask me how I know.

And yes... the STX grill looks so much better on the ‘18 models. I swapped mine out a couple years ago too, and still love how it looks.

Agreed. I looked around for a while and found what I thought was a pretty good deal, especially considering it was already the stock color of my truck and prep/paint wouldn't be needed. The shipping was unpleasant, but not as bad as the seller originally thought.

I suppose I could offset some of it by trying to sell the original grill, but I haven't thought too much about that.
