The factory code can not be changed. You can add codes and delete them, but the factory code is for life.

If you replace the BCM with a used one, will the factory code be the new one that is printed on the back of the BCM(all BCMs have the factory code on the back)? Also, can Forscan program a used BCM? Will the key fobs work on a push to start truck?

Thanks

Correct about the factory keyless entry code? Will the key fobs be recognised for push to start or will I have to get them reprogrammed?

Thanks

I believe that if you replace your BCM, none of your existing fobs will work, they will need to be reprogrammed. You won't be able to drive the truck until you do so.

It's not Ford's fault if someone is stupid and leaves the keypad code card in the truck. That's like leaving a spare key in the truck. Remove the card, hide it where you hide other sensitive personal information, and program your own number that you can change later if you need to.

They were thinking most likely the owner would lock/loose keys and not remember the code they set,

Confirmed the keys no longer work after replacing the BCM. The new keyless entry code(on back of new BCM) works fine. Locksmith coming tomorrow to reprogram the keys. I wonder why his device(Autel 608?) can program new keys with ignition off, and I cant program the BCM with forscan(because cant turn on ignition). I can read the BCM just fine, but programming seems not possible.
