So, i was driving down the tollway yesterday in Dallas and as i slowed down because the car in front of me slowed down, the jackass behind me plowed right into me at highway speeds, so somewhere between 50-70mph. He was driving a Toyota Corolla that was very clearly totaled, it was destroyed.
Im impressed that I was able to drive away from the accident unharmed and im still able to get around. I took these photos this morning and i’ve already filed the claim on his insurance.

Sorry about that! Did you crawl underneath and look at the frame? Should be pretty easy to see if anything's bent.
Agree. If no visible damage/cracks/bends, then a little more effort needed. When tires and mufflers are cold, crawl under safely and measure opposite sides with measuring tape ground-to-frame. b) if you are lucky to find a piece of wood/pipe/crowbar/stick that exactly fits ground-to-frame height, check with that. Some bends are left to right. After that, if you need to know separate from the Ins company, take it to a shop that has a frame machine, they can look it over and find the 'easy' stuff that non-pros cant. Sorry to hear you were a victim of someone else's ignorance.
That frame needs to be replaced. I guarantee it. Sorry about that. It should be buckled at or right above the rear axel, or if you have a hitch, the front of that towards the axel.

That looks bad but held up very well!... Glad you are OK. I would get it professionally checked. I'd be surprised if it isn't bent. I'll be following to see how you end up.
Well, you are going to have to let an insurance adjuster and frame/body shop look at it, so "I" would go from there. Good luck.
PS: Let us know how you make out.
90 percent chance the frame is bent, depending how far up its bent, the rear half of the frame can be replaced, if it's bent past the sectioning portion, then it will need a complete frame.
So an update on this. The insurance company of the guy who hit me is taking liability, (thank god). So, I dropped off my truck at the collision repair center today and while it’s going to take a while to get a full damage assessment, they did take a brief look and immediately found frame damage.
the question is whether the repair would require a partial or full frame replacement and if the insurance is going to fix it or total it. Im also going to need a new truck box obviously too. I really hope this can be fixed because I dont want to have to get a new truck
