Default Cargo Lights - Bed Switch?

Greetings all,

2016 f150 Screw 302A package. I have the bed lights but no switch in the bed itself. Page 88 of owners manual says the switch is "cargo / trailer" switch for lights. Question is: If you have the LED bed lights are you automatically supposed to have the switch in the bed too? I only have it on the dashboard.

Thanks in advance- I did search but couldn't find a specific answer on this.

I have the bed lights and I have a switch in the bed. Are you sure you don’t have it? It’s a low profile push button. I have the factory bed liner and you can barely see it. Plus it’s covered by the tailgate extender when it’s folded up. If you don’t know right where it is you could easily miss it. Mine is near the back of the bed on the drivers side.

You should have it with a 16 302A. Should be on the driver side under the bed light. It's a flushed button (not a switch).

Do you have a bedliner? Hopefully the applicator didn't spray over it.

I have a 2015 with the factory spray-in liner and the plastic bed extender. Unless you know where that switch is, you'll play hell trying to find it...especially if it's dark out. Ford sure could have placed it in a better location.

If your bed coater didn't cover with with bed material (which is stiff enough to mask the thing entirely)

then it's there but it is also matte black rubber - and looks a bit like a rubber plug - so it could be over looked.

I keep saying I'm going to take some glow in the dark gun sight paint and trace it or something so as to help see the thing. but hell bright yellow would help too.

It's easy to miss.

GREETINGS
and thanks to all for replies. Well the switch is indeed there behind a rubber stopper on the bed liner. I assume the dealer should have mounted it in the hole where the plug is. Switch looks square , the hole in the bed liner is round . Will this fit as is or would I need to Dremel it also can this be done with the liner in place or should I see the dealer.? One last question the dealer I bought the truck from is about 200 miles away would a local dealer be obligated to fix this at no cost to me? Truck was bought new and now has 11000 mile in it thanks again to who replied and will reply

Don't think it is suppose to mount in the liner. Not the best design, but just suppose to reach in and push the button if needed. Or use the one in the cab.

If you have the plastic drop in Ford bed liner it's behind a rubber grommet below the bed light. That is how it's supposed to be.
