Default Cargo led bulbs

Finally getting around to changing out the cargo bulbs. What do you guys consider the best bulbs to get the most output as I often need to see in my cargo bed at night and the yellow stock bulbs aren't cutting it! Also I think changing the middle brake bulb to! ? Suggestions?

Diode Dynamics. They should have their Black Friday sale soon. Usually 20% off.

Did you have any issue with the license plate lights glaring the camera or the backup bulbs causing a glare?

Has anyone tried the cargo bulbs from f150leds or 4x4 truck leds? They both seem to have good reviews and priced the same, f150 is actually cheaper than the diode Dynamics. Just want the best, longest lasting and brightest since they are all similar price range

I do from time to time. I have DD bulbs in the license plate lights. I would suggest getting low lumen (light output) for those. It glares most when the camera and/or lights are wet, it's raining outside. I've also noticed it when it's cold or foggy out. It isn't a big deal, but noticeable, to me. I don't really need really bright lights shining on my plate anyways. The cops don't need any extra help running my plates Talking. Plates are reflective and light up like spot light when you shine a light on them.

I agree with Pioneer74 with swapping out all 3 bulbs in the cargo light. My reasoning is, you're already there, why not. You get a better light for the cargo, and the 3rd brake light will have clean and crisp turn on/off. It looks the way it should from the factory IMO. And you don't have to keep breaking that factory gasket seal to the cab and risk water leaking in. I've seen people try all sorts of different bulbs back there, from colored ones, to cheap ones, to flashy ones, taking off and reinstalling their 3rd brake light a dozen times in one week! I don't live some place sunny and hot all the time so I'm always cautious of that sort of thing when doing aftermarket stuff on my truck.

Some more personal advice on swapping out these auxiliary bulbs: Personal experience here. Be careful when getting lured by high output fancy LED bulbs. They still do get dam hot and when installing them in the 3rd brake light area, it's cramped in there, with no place for heat to go. One set of bulbs I installed were nice, high lumen output (from Amazon), but they were a little larger and just barely fit in the housing. So, the LED body (heatsink) rested against the inside plastic. With the Fords and how they have that cargo light come on and off all the time, just entering and exiting the truck, and unlocking the truck, they got pretty hot and started to melt part of the plastic inside. I caught it in time and swapped them out for DDs. No problem. A little less light output, but still nice and bright. I also have the OEM bed lights too, so no big deal to me. I wish Forscan was able to only eliminate that rear cargo light from coming on all the time, the spaceship effect, and only turn on when I tell it to. That's for a different thread though.

I'm still waiting for this Black Friday sale to post so I can finally get a full set of headlight bulbs!
