Years ago I had a Leer but now I want to know what's the best cap for the 2015 with a 6.5 box?

Z series for sure, that's what I put on mine.

I didn't like all the "hardware" that holds the glass to the frame showing on the outside of the Leer XL, ARE Z series has zero hardware coming through the glass except the single latch to open it at the bottom.

Also at the end of the day I was able to get the Z series cheaper than the Leer 100 XL and both were optioned with tip out front window and interior headliner.

I thought the title of this post was whether or not to put a cap on. Caps are the worst. Period. Don't cap, get a trailer if you need that much stuff.

Who wants to haul a trailer around every time you need to haul something that you dont want to get wet or get stolen if you have to stop someplace??? Not me. I have trailers also, I have had tonnaue covers in the past and the cap is by far the most convenient setup out of all of them.

My last truck was the first one in 10 years that didnt have a cap and i had a tonnaue on it and it was always a PITA. Want to haul 3 bicycles in it, got to remove the cover, want to haul a load of firewood, got to remove the cover, need to move some furniture and its raining out now you need to go get the trailer to keep it dry, screw that.

I have a leer cap and couldn't be happier with having a cap. Some people hate the look but for what I do it makes my truck much more useful. I can't comment on ARE or SnugTop, except in looks, and I like the ARE look a little better than leer, just have a leer dealer near by.

I just put a snug top rebel on. I like the security it gives. I like that it keeps my cargo dry. I like that it makes my truck way cooler than your average truck without a shell.

This probably a dumb question but would like to know, when you have a cap on your truck is it sealed to the back of the cab? I've never had one & never really noticed it on a truck that has a cap.....I think some of the caps look good.
