After a recent update, I have lost the ability to answer calls through android auto. I get a call notification and when I push the answer button, it seems to connect but neither party can hear each other. If I call out, everything is OK. If I unplug from the usb, Sync3 can answer calls with no issues.

2018 Lariat with current Sync software. I did delete and reinstall android auto without change.

Do you have multiple SIM cards? I have the same issue and it only started when I added the second SIM.

 

Same single sim. No changes made that I know of. This was very inconvenient the other night when I was was waiting for a call from the state police as I was pacing a drunk driver.

 

Go into the Sync settings and change the ringtone in the phone settings to the Device's ringtone. Mine reverts back every once in a while and I have to go in and change it back, that should fix it.

 

I had an issue yesterday as well....when it is using Android auto I think it uses google for the voice commands, I can no longer make calls when my phone is plugged in, it comes up on the screen but does not hear anything I say. Same as you when I unplug it and use sync everything works fine. It seems like there must be an issue with some update.

 

I don’t see that option in Sync. The phone rings but when I pick it up there is no sound. I can’t hear them and they can’t hear me.

 

Unplug your phone from SYNC before going into settings.

 

I am having a similar issue, Just installed mine yesterday and did not install extra mic or speaker. I can make and receive calls no problem using the sync system. Android auto allows me to answer the call and shows call in progress but neither party can hear one another. I do not have the sim installed either. Very frustration to have a nice screen but no handsfree use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Android Auto is one of the buggiest programs I've ever used. It used to be good, til theyredesigned it. Then, update after update, this bug persisted. AA is one of the top 3 reasons I left Android, despite liking it more. Messaging sucking and slow update rollouts were the others. I'd like to switch back but it seems like things are still the status quo.

I did the unplug and change ringtone and that worked. Buggy freaking software.
