Default Canadian USED F150's

Hey guys, I have a question. My buddy is looking for a used F150 and is finding a lot of trucks he's looking at from local dealers are from Canada. Anyone have any good reason to avoid these Canadian trucks ?? Warranties or other concerns ?? Thank you.

I rolled the dice on buying a northern truck and lucked out…never driven in winter and garaged kept…absolutely zero rust…I do believe there are some northern trucks that are not driven in winter and exposed to the elements, but you have to ask the necessary questions…

I was also thinking about the gauge cluster (MPH vs KLM) and warranty issues.

My truck is a Canuck, a 2018 Crew Cab, came out of Quebec. Not rustier underneath than any that would have come local to me, definatly better than any truck that came from Cleveland. The spedo group somehow gets updated to Miles rather than Kilos on the spedo display, I got through all the CSP notifications on the Cam Phazer stuff and the frozen door lock stuff, all notified through Ford Pass app which registered to me quickly a couple days. The previous owner still had their cell phone numbers listed in the Sync 3 system. The XTR markings make it a bit easier to identify in parking lots since it is white. I did have the IWE issue with the failed check valve but that was Ford's fault not Canadas.

Easy enough to look under a truck on the lot and see how rusty the underside is. Pay for a Car Fax and if the dealer lot is a real Ford lot ask for a an Oasis report which will show every time the truck visited a Ford factory service center. While Car Fax shows ownership changes and oil changes and the like the Oasis report will show all Ford repair service.

My truck showed 3 owners Fleet vehicle some landscaping company, trade in to Canadian dealer then sold at auto auction to US dealer then to me.

Canadian vehicles are no different to any other vehicles driven anywhere else (States) with snow.
just be conscious of those states and provinces that use salt.
Alberta uses salt where Saskatchewan doesnt use it alot. Not sure about the US.

Anyone south of like Maryland are scared of trucks from up north. Don’t let them sway your opinion.

They aren't Canadian trucks. Just Ford trucks from Canada. All were manufactured in the US. Have it checked out. Canada doesn't use more salt than many places in the Northern US. Make sure that the gauge cluster has been swapped properly and doesn't default to KMH every time you start it. Also, the DRLs may be on 100% of the time as that's the law in Canada. If you don't like that, you will have to find a way to disable it, which is easy on trucks that are friendly with forscan. Good luck.
