Default Can the Sync voice command accent be changed?

Hi folks,

Is there a setting to control the accent used in Sync? I don't drive all much any more, and just noticed that the Sync "Voice" seems much different. I was trying to call my wife from the truck last night using the sync voice command. I could barely understand what the Sync voice was saying (strong British accent). Sync could not understand my commands either.

Is there a way to change it from that British accent? Not sure what version I have (3.x) in my 2018 Lariat.

Thanks in advance

Have you done anything to the vehicle like change configuration? For the embedded voice, the only reason you'd have a UK voice is you have your vehicle configured for a different destination country, and have the UK voice installed. If it's configured for US destination, you should only be able to select the US English option and voice.

Nope. I haven't done anything to it. It's really bizarre. I can't recall the last time I used the voice command prompt (maybe 2 months ago)?

Where is this US English option and voice selection you speak of? I would like to check to see what its set on.

and thank you for your help. I tried searching the forum and couldn't find any similar issue

It's linked to the system language. You can check it in the Settings screen.

I drive around with mine on Español sometimes, but I don't think that's what you're looking for.

I checked it again yesterday and all was fine. I think now it was maybe my Iphone. Weird, but not going to worry about it.

Thanks for your help,

That was going to be the other option. May have held the button down too long and it routed to the phone instead. Any time.

Not fixed even after the recent service bulletin performed on instrument cluster firmware update. Hopefully its addressed with another firmware update. Really annoying.
