2017 with SYNC and Navigation updated as far as I can on Ford. See pic.

But I can use a Windows laptop and USB drive to update to 3.4 using Cyanlabs?
Is this correct and/or do I need anything else?
can I update Navigation as well?
Is Navigation and Maps the same thing?

 

You could use CyanLabs to update. Do you use CarPlay or Android Auto? Their navigation will be updated more often.

I’d love to get this a bit more current than where it’s at now.

 

I use AA when I'm driving so I ended up removing the Sync system and going aftermarket using a Kenwood double din with wireless AA so I didn't update beyond 3.3something and also my stock unit didn't have Navigation. I use Google Maps on AA.

 

Yes you can use it to update both the maps and the software. When using cyanlabs you put in your current software, Gracenotes and maps version and select which versions of those you want to update to. I've used it numerous times with no issues.

 

Cyanlabs is the way to go..............quick and easy.
I use it on all 3 Fords in my household.
