Default Can Bus issue?

Shortly after starting my truck (2015 F150 KR 4x4 Supercrew) for a while I get a Blind Spot error closely followed by a Cross Traffic error. Not long after that a lot of the rest of the electronics in the truck start acting up. I was thinking that I had a bad blind spot module but now I am not so sure. It seems everything will go along fine for a while then a lot of DTC's for "Lost Communication" pop up. I am not sure what to make of it. Does anyone have any ideas? I disconnected my taillights and blew out the connectors and that seemed to make it a little longer before the error occurred but they did not seem to have anything in them. No water or anything.

Check out this thread. You most likely have a MS-CAN bus issue as well.

Thanks, I was figuring I'll have to chase connectors to sort this out.

I would start with C405. For some reason it seems to be more incline to get water intrusion than the others. I think it is the plug seals in the larger wire ports. Check your taillamps as well for water. That is fairly common. If you see some water in the taillamps, you need to remove the SODs (aka: BLIS module) and the connector and dry and clean. Then you need to find out how the water is getting in.

Surprisingly, rodent damage to C327 and those other connectors around there is a fairly common occurrence. Seems they have an preference for that spot.

The tail lights were bone dry, But I am in a dusty environment so not counting dust intrusion out.

You know I seem to remember putting it in the dealership for a issue with the seat and they mentioned doing a TSB for a connector. I thought it was one under the seat. Never figured that one out.

Have you open the hood and look for rodent damage to the wires? I had an issue where rats chewed on a cam bus wire for the electronic steering and caused all kind of issues. No cruise control, no auto head lights, and others based on this cam bus line.

The Hood is about 5 foot high, even if you looked it would take a ladder to see it all. I am going to go over the entire truck inspecting things.

Still going through connectors and grounds but what I am finding looks pristine. A little dust under the hood and under the bed but otherwise perfect. What would a gateway module failure look like if it was having issues?

GWM failures are hard to diagnose since they control all the CAN buses. Different failure modes can give results. About the only way to know for sure is to swap it out. The PMI process must be performed and the As-built profile must be loaded into the module.
