Default Can battery cause multiple error codes.

2017 3.5EB, for about two weeks the check engine light came on. I can feel a slight stumble, but otherwise runs okay. The Ford Pass app states PCM lost comms with ABS. PCM incorrect signal with brake pedal sensor. PCM lost comms with power steering control module. PCM lost comms with dash front control interface module. PCM lost comms with passenger door control module. System has detected powertrain drive fault. It still has the original battery on 96k miles. I have an extended warranty, but if a battery swap can fix it, then that would be ideal. Thank you.

In short yes. I had many of these messages myself just about 2 weeks ago on my 2017 2.7L also original battery. New battery no problems now, I hear 5 years is pretty good life for the batteries in these trucks.

I see H6 is the OEM size. Can I use H7 without any modifications? Thanks.

I upgraded from my H6 to the H7. H7 is the biggest that will fit a 2017...ask me how I know haha. If you do upgrade make sure to use forscan to upgrade the battery size (in the BCM I believe) and reset the BMS.

When power goes down too low, loss of communiction errors over the common CAN buss will be set as Body codes.
You may not see codes set for this unless you have a good Scanner or use FORSCAN to look the history.
A diagnoisis of each one will come back all test pass and clear the codes.
In any event there should be no drivability issues from the events as just errors, after a succesfull start..
You can go a long time with the history set and never know it unless it was looked for..
Good luck.

Bought H6 AGM battery from Wal Mart. Has 4 year full warranty. Wanted H7, but didn't see where in Forescan it was to make that change. Not many miles driven, but the error lights have not come back on yet.

Provided by another forum member. This is fairly old but it shouldn't have changed.
