Camera Recall
The recall just started in Oct I believe and we are having problems getting enough cameras in stock, its basically the entire 2020 line up but every model takes a different camera and that makes it more difficult, F150 and Raptor are even different.
Parts are expected to be widely available by the first quarter of 2021.
Once we get the parts the recall takes about an hour with calibrating for trailer assist backup and 360 view.
Yes dealers cannot sell a vehicle with a open safety recall, there is a federal gov fine if they are caught doing so, its usually around $20,000 per vehicle.
Heck weve got like band new 10 mustangs just sitting in the back lot waiting on parts for the brake pedal recall.

Had my '20 XLT in for it's first service about a week ago. They mentioned the camera recall and said they could do it while I was there. So I had them go ahead and replace the camera. It actually looks sharper than the previous camera.
2020 XLT. I had that happen once (right after replacing my tailgate emblem). Unhooked the camera, hooked it back up (to ensure it had a good connection) and haven't had an issue since. Got recall notice for my truck but won't mess with it unless acts up again.
Interestingly enough, I got my 2020 in June. The front camera would intermittently quit working the first week i had it. No issue with the back camera. Asked the dealer to replace both. Still waiting on parts since July. They say there are just now getting them. For the last few months, the front camera has been working with no issues. Weird.
