Having an issue with my rear camera on my 2016 F-150 Platinum (3.5 EcoBoost).
In the winter, the camera works fine. But once it gets hot out, when I put the truck in reverse the screen goes completely blue. I already replaced the rear camera with a new OEM unit, but I’m still getting the same blue screen.
Recently, I also started getting a “front camera malfunction” message on startup—even though the front camera actually works. On top of that, my auto high beams have stopped working.
For reference, I did upgrade the APIM behind the radio not too long ago, but the rear camera issue was happening even before that.
I know Ford has recalls out for backup camera issues on other trucks, but my VIN isn’t included. I even called Ford and they basically told me there’s nothing they can do.
Has anyone run into this before? Could this be wiring, a module issue, or something else I’m missing?
Appreciate any help.you can offer

The rear camera circuit passes through connectors C406 and C408. Both of these conneectors can get water intrusion. Check them for corrosion or water damage. They are located behind the spare tire.
Had a similar issue with my rear camera working intermittently and then eventually stopped working completely only showing a blue screen. Ended up being the shield wire (DMP19) was heavily corroded and broken. Ordered a new harness online for $108, half hour of my time later it was fixed. If you're handy, it's not difficult to check for continuity from one end of the wire to the other to check for broken wires. If you do replace the harness, double check with your dealer that you're ordering the correct harness since they use different harnesses based of trim level and features.
As for the front camera, if the camera message started shortly after replacing the APIM, I'd double check that you have all your connections seated securely before digging deeper.
Fun fact, the shield wire only has insulation on each end for maybe 6 inches. After that it's just bare wire wrapped around the video + and - wires. It is wrapped in a shielded electrical tape, but that must not keep moisture out that well.
