Item 2 in the picture is the light sensor. Item 1 is the temp/humidity sensor.

The light i’m referring to is on the recirculation button ,when you engage it the light comes on. when the truck was new it stayed on when you touched it until the truck was turned off or the defog was used now it stays on for just 5 min. Or so and goes out. Cant figure out why but when the recirculation button is on it does a great job of keeping out the exhaust from other vehicles.

Recirculating means that most of the air blowing out of your vents originated from the interior of your truck, hence the air is recirculating and you will not notice as many outside smells. If you have the climate control system on recirculate, it will stay that way unless the humidity gets too high. The system will de-select recirculating, allowing outside air to enter the cabin and hopefully reduce humidity. If the humidity continues to remain too high, the A/C will be engaged, even if you are asking for hot air. The A/C will remove moisture from the air stream, then it is heated by the heater core and exhausted through your vents, thus emitting dry warm air to reduce the humidity. This whole system is designed to keep the windows as fog/frost free as possible. The above is true regardless of the type of climate controls you have.

filtration works whenever the heating/A/C is on. you are looking at the recirc button. kt does not work in all modes to keep the windshield clear.
