Default Bumper Adjustment

I was wondering if and how you adjust the front bumper. It seems that mine is out of alignment somehow, and is sagging down on both sides. (hopefully not bent) I don't know much about body work, and panels and such. Does anyone know if it's as simple as loosening a couple bolts, or if I need to add shims, or whatever?

Mine looks the same, but even more noticeable on the Oxford White. I always check other trucks to see if they have the same flaw (they do). I'm curious if there is some justification for it or just poor build quality.

I see so many other trucks that have the bumper just barely touching the rubber, and mine has the big gap. Something is off. I hope it's a simple adjustment, and not that something is bent.

LOL, I just might end up doing that. Will have to wait for the rain to stop for a day or two.

This seems to be a common theme in recent production model years. Search for "bumper frown" on the forum.

I think some guys used fender washers to plumb their bumpers.

You are correct. There is a thread about shimming it back to where it looks right. IIRC, it's pretty darn easy.

Default Shims

I took mine off and shimmied the top bolts about a 1/2 inch and it now touches the rubber.

It's normal. It's that way so your bumper will interface with another vehicles bumper flat in an accident. Supposed to reduce damage by spreading impact. A lot of people notice it when the lift or level a truck. Shims or washers on the top bolts fixes this.
