Default Broken Tail Light

A tree hit my truck and broke my tail light. Not too bad , just the outer red lens, I have the pieces. I was just needing some thoughts; should I replace it or glue the pieces back on. Most likely will not be water tight. I have BLIS so it is not cheap. I could make an insurance claim and fix the scuffs on the bumper. That may raise my rates andI think my deductible is $500. Also leaves a paper trail about an "accident".

Is Tasca the best option for replacement parts?

Thanks in advance.

Are you going through insurance or out of pocket?

I don't think they raise rates for 'act of god' or non at fault claim. Doesn't hurt to call and ask. The taillight will be the deductible price and you get the rest fixed under the claim. I don't think it will show up anywhere as a accident but can't confirm that.

If a tree fell on your truck, that sounds like a comprehensive claim which wouldn't raise your insurance rates. However, if your deductible is $500, you can buy a brand new tail light from Tasca for $320ish plus shipping (and if you send your broken one back you get $50 back). So, I would just buy a new light, swap your BLIS module and you'll be good to go.
