I've had my 2015 XLT Sport 3.5 EB since new (aka Big Blue or Walter). It only has 58K miles on it, has been well maintained and needs nothing. It has a kick-*** sound system, and new bits like CV axles, wheel hubs, rotors, and all AWE components. I also have a 2016 Mustang GT Premium as my fun car, and we take my wife's 2025 Telluride SX Prestige on road trips.
I was going to replace my F150 this year with either a 2024-ish F150 with a sunroof or a used 2025 Explorer. Then I decided I can't justify the cost especially since I usually work from my home office.A sunroof is one thing I really miss having, but not worth replacing an entire vehicle to get. I'm getting to be an old fogey and grew up in the days of big chrome bumpers, Cragar SS and Centerline wheels.
I think I am going to add some of that personality to it and replace the body-colored grille with the 5 bar chrome version, the door handle covers, and the front and rear bumper covers. That is, assuming I can find some used ones in decent shape that don't break the bank. Some 18" chrome wheels are on the list too. I'm sticking with 18s because the tires are new. I'm also going to replace the stock instrument cluster with the digital version. And possibly do the headlights and taillights with a more distinct look. Same with the running boards. I'm okay with the current raked stance and am not a lift kit type of bloke.
You can get all kinds of chrome goodies on ebay. Trust me, I'm all about the chrome. Search ebay for "ford f150 chrome accessories". I got the fog light surrounds, bumper pad covers, door handle covers and mirror covers off there. They have a bunch of stuff. Chrome might not be for everyone, but I'm an old school kinda guy.
I too like chrome, because I`m old school. Late model monochrome vehicles remind me of the police cars and Yellow cabs I used to drive. I also like large vehicles. I once had a Chrysler New Yorker st Regis brougham & that barely had enough chrome for me.
Having said all that, there comes a time when you could have a tad too much chrome eg:
If you live in a area with a lot of sand and gravel on the road chrome is a better choice. My truck is constantly bombarded by gravel and sand on the freeways. Chrome is holding up fine, the paint not so much (I do have PPP on the front of the hood).
