Default Box steps?

Any input on oem box steps? I have a chance to buy some new take offs ( both sides ) for a good price and wondering how ppl like them and are they worth it? Also if the truck didn't come with them would there be any difficulties with the install?

Thanks.

I just installed a set - both sides. My wife loves them. Should have been on the truck when I purchased but didn't. Paid much more after the fact. Very easy to install - 20 minutes tops.

I added these to the original order (not much money anyways, relative to what was being spent at the time). I use them a lot when loading camping gear/kyack etc.

I bought them after the fact through parts dept. and my God were they expensive. $325 at time of ordering is the way to go.

I ordered mine with them but took them off after a couple of months because for me the tailgate step is so convenient. Plus it took 60 pounds off the truck. But I can see why for certain situations some people would use the side steps.

I have a full width large took box in my 6.5ft bed. I have the side steps and use them a lot. Can reach everything in the box. On older trucks I had to crawl over the tailgate or into the bed. With this truck, I specifically ordered the side steps and tailgate step. Surprising to me, I use the side steps much more than the tailgate step. Side steps are really quick and easy use. I have on multiple occasions forgot to put them back in. Never had an issue. My extra large mirrors stick out further than the steps and it would be difficult to tear them off.
