Boost Leak
Getting an intermittent engine light with losing boost between the throttle body and intake code. Started a few weeks after replacing the faulty oem unit with BBK.
Anyone else experience this after installing the BBK on a 3.5 eco? Or after just having things disconnected?
Is there a point in the intake where these trucks tend to start leaking? I've re-tightened all the connections I could reach, starting with the connection by the bottom of the radiator that feeds the throttle body, as that's as far as I went to get the BBK installed.
Are the torque values for these fittings similar to non-boost intakes? I've always torqued intake fittings a good bit more than the values that are listed because old rubber is harder than new rubber, and I torqued the clamps tighter than what it took to break them loose.
No drive ability issues, good power and idle, just an occasional engine light that I'd like to fix so that when it comes on I know there is an issue that should be addressed.

Old trick to find intake leaks. Start the truck and let it idle. Spray starting fluid at any suspected leak points. If you just replaced the T/B I would start there. If you have a leak the idle will increase as the starting fluid is drawn in.
I am familiar with the process, was just wondering if there are any known issues of intake leakage that creep in after awhile with these gen trucks. I don't have much to check.. throttle body to intake manifold, and intake manifold to intake plenums.
I keep throttle body cleaner on the shelf for the daily drivers, carb cleaner is on the shelf for carb'd engines, namely lawn equipment, and anm old vette. There's not a lot of difference, but sometimes carb cleaner does not play nice with modern sensors or plastics.
