BMS Doing it's job
So my battery is almost 4 years old. I recently noticed that my auxiliary power ports turn off immediately once I open the door. I have changed this to 4 hours via Forscan some time ago. My only explanation for the change would be the BMS. Agree?
I don't drive a lot since March, and now my radio shuts off after 10 minutes even with the key in the Accessory position. BMS must switch to the timed shut off when the battery is a little lower than it should be.
This really makes me appreciate what it actually does. I'm glad I kept the system active. If you're paying attention it can act like a warning system for an aging battery. I plan to replace it this week and I'll report back any changes.
I noticed earlier this year that, on the occasions when I opted to push the *** button and to shut the engine off at what I knew would be a long light or a long drive through...it wouldn't shut off.
Looked into it and yup it's the BMS keeping it on, which the in dash screen explains if you select the auto start stop info portion.
I bet sales of battery maintainers/tenders are way up in 2020 lol...the noco 2 amp I ordered arrives tomorrow, holidays are coming up I either drive hundreds of miles a day for travel or park for a week or two to keep it clean and shiny lol, alternating

Well the battery was weak. It tested to be 75% and due for replacement. To me that makes the BMS worth having, that is if you're paying attention. It would really be nice if FordPass would have sent me a notification.
