Bilstein 5100 vs. Fox Coilover
Has anyone had any experience comparing the Bilstein 5100 vs. the Fox 2.0 Coilover packages? (Leveling Kits)
I'd be curious to know if there is a significant enough difference to justify the cost for the Fox system. I have read the reviews on both... most reviews are basically useless.
I'm interested to see if anyone can give specific details on why one is better than the other.
I know that people love the Bilstein 5100 on this forum, which is why they are in question vs. the Fox... Fox obviously has its name. I have friends that have had Fox 6" lifts and they are fantastic (but have issues).
I understand that on the Bilstein 5100 you are using your old spring and the Fox comes as a complete set and that could factor in to the price increase.
What I am trying to accomplish by this post is finding out specifically what are peoples opinions, by experience, between the two.

Fox 2.0 vs Bilstein 6112 is the more equal comparison....not 5100. I spoke to two professional shops and the consensus is Fox 2.0. What I just went with and it rides better that stock....as long as you don’t go with LT tires.
I have had both in the past and hands down, I am on board with Fox products. It's little things that make the difference for me, as I think the ride is comparable. The finish on the Fox shocks does not oxidize like the Bilsteins, and has stayed looking like new on all my trucks for the lifetime they were installed. Also, the rubber bushings on my Bilsteins were rough after just two years or so, on a truck that was not driven daily. I am waiting on my '20 to arrive this month, and a Fox 2.0 setup has already been ordered for it, along with everything else in my signature. My wife is on the cusp of going crazy with all the purchases.

An adjustable rebuild-able coil over setup is a big step up over replacement performance shocks. The coilovers mostly start at 2 inch going up from there, bigger tube more fluid, have stronger components, allow for custom ordered settings in some cases, offer much more adjust-ability, can usually be rebuilt and upgraded to remote reservoir and/or adjustable valving. Just handling a new set of Fox King or Icon's will leave an impression of stout quality. I have used Koni KYB Bilstein and a large variety of other performance shocks on past vehicles. My Icon Stage 1 set impressed me thoroughly even before installation and really transformed the feel and handling of my F150.
Sorry, can't compare specified items just pointing out the apples to full meal differences tween upgrade shocks vs adjustable coil over setups. KM
