Bils 4600 or 5100?
Finally have to fix the dreaded rear issue. It's straight up dangerous.
Anyone have insight into one over the other. She's a 2WD highway queen in Florida. I'd like a smooth ride but don't mind a bit firmer...just don't want rigid if that makes sense.

If you're not planning on lifting the rear of the truck the 4600 will work great. Otherwise you'll need the 5100.

I went with 4600's. I don't have plans on lifting my truck. One of the best mods I've done so far.
The 4600's, 18" P rated AT tires and 200-300lbs in the bed REALLY smoothed the ride out and made it much more controlled. Ride is firm, but not harsh or jittery, and the truck stays planted on the road.

If you plan on keeping the truck 5100's have a nice zinc coating that lasts for years, even on the salty road winters we get up here. I think the price difference is around 10 bucks. Other than that I believe the valving is the same, plus if you ever do decide to lift you'll already have the shocks that can do it.

Put 4600's just on the back, although I had them at all corners on my last truck. Significant improvement over stock.
RWD, SCREW, 9.75", 20's, 275/55. (Plasti-dipped the yellow bodies flat black.)

I too put 4600's on my back of my 2017 FX4. I have no intention to lift, so they're perfect for me, and I like the look of the yellow shock body peeking out from behind the wheel.

I have a 3 day old 2017 STX 4x2 (on 20s).. I too notice very minor double or triple hops on uneven roads. I just figured this was normal for a larger truck on an empty bed.. but this is my first truck? lol
Is the general conception here to just get 4600s (not lifting or leveling) on the rear and install yourself in under an hour? What is the general result of this.. with not adding any weight in the bed, does the double/triple hop vanish and feel more planted?
Lastly, any links/videos on how to do the install?

From what I've read, your truck will hug the road much better and should eliminate the rear end hop. I ordered 5100's for the rear and they should arrive tomorrow. Part of my commute involves taking a transfer ramp from one freeway to another, and the truck likes to get jiggy as I drive over it. I also do a good bit of offroading and this thing HATES washboard roads, to the point it's almost unsafe.

Some ride better than others but everyone I have owned or ridden in benefits from it. Now some tires will ride better than others as well but the wheel hop is common in unloaded trucks.
My 5100's will be here tomorrow and hopefully it will be the best $154.00 spent on mods that I do with the exception of the window tint.
