Default Bigger lcd speedometer?

I would like to upgrade the speedometer to the higher end one. I know I'll have to wait for one to pop up cheap but has anyone done it yet? Plug and play?

You would have to do some digging but I've seen it on here before.

You'll most likely have to have some programming done with the Ford IDS tool to get it all working.

I was looking into the same upgrade and my local dealer said it can't be done. They weren't sure about compatibility and what needs to happen besides physical screen replacement. I'm interested to hear what another dealer has to say. It should be plug and play with a simple software flash unless Ford doesn't run the same wiring harness for each screen.

Doesn't the plain guages have needles for oil temp, fuel level etc?

The upgrade ones have digital displays

I wound think is going to take a little more then slapping on a new cluster

I just traded my 2014 Dodge Dart in and it came with the base model cluster and I put the 7 inch one in and everything worked and never had to have it flashed. I have the slightly better speedo than the base model with steering wheel controls so I don't see why it wouldn't be able to work. It's just that they are expensive lol

I spoke to Fairway Ford, which has an online parts presence, and they said the same thing as my dealer. It's a rare conversion without a clear parts list and even if they order it for me, I'm on my own for installation and integration.

Yea well I guess we'll have to wait a few months until they start popping up at scrap yards to get the clusters cheap
