Default Big problems with Smallest Antenna - help!

So unfortunately the stem of the Antenna broke off while I was trying to remove it. I believe the threads on the truck started to rust which when removing the antenna caused it to snap. I planning on taking it to my local dealer. I feel like they should take care of it under warranty but I am pretty sure they wont as its usually a fight to get warranty services. I would look into drilling it myself but I am afraid I might cause more damage. Anyone have a similar issue or any suggestions. Also worried if I take it to the dealership they might try to charge me a ton to fix it

Side Note: For those curious there is no wind noise.

Just drill a hole and back that out with a bolt extractor. My kit cost $20-30 bucks. Strealership will charge you 1/2 hr or more labor.

Just use a little penetrating oil and a reverse rotation drill bit. This will generally back it right out.

As mentioned, drill it, extract it...if by chance the threads are shot, access the antenna thru the wheel well liner...

Make sure you are centered when you drill. Use a center punch before drilling. If you are off center you may have a very hard time with the extractor. I good sharp left handed drill bit will often spin the bolt out as it drills. In my experience I would say that 75% of bolts I have drilled with left hand bits have spun out without having to use an extractor.

A very light touch with the center punch or you will be very upset. That's aluminum it's mounted to. If you have a helper to hold from inside the wheel well it might help. Soak that thread good an hour before.

good luck
