Default BFG KO2 Warning

I've been shopping around for KO2's for my truck. Everywhere I looked online, there were usually 2 tires of the same exact size 285/65r20 for about the same price.

I googled and couldn't find any information but then read on the raptor forum that the BFG's that come on their trucks do not offer the 50k mileage warranty.

Then I went to my tire guy and he gave a full printout of both tires.

Turns out, the DT (different tread) model offers the 50k warranty. The other model offer NO WARRANTY.

BEFORE YOU BUY:

Make sure you check the model name of your tire. It should say ALL-TERRAIN T/A KO2 DT (DIFFERENT TREAD)

If it doesn't, you are purchasing $1500.00 worth of tires without a warranty.

Apparently the non DT tires have a different tread compound that is softer for off-road. I'd rather take a more dense tread compound and a warranty.

All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires labeled "DT" utilize a different tread compound designed to improve wear in high-torque applications and improved chip and tear resistance in gravel. Tires featuring this compound carry a 50,000-Mile Treadwear Warranty and are NOT branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol. They can be identified by the "DT" branding on the sidewall immediately following the service description, and are labeled on the Specs page and in search results. of the BFG KO2

I’ll take the snowflake over the DT any day up here in New England. Last set had the snowflake and 50k on them before the truck was wrecked, never had a problem with them. I do not expect to have any issues with this set either.

You can’t have both.

The 50k warranty appears to be for treadlife only, the non DT tires appear to be covered under "Workmanship & Materials Warranty." The text below is directly from tirerack's warranty info under the KO2.

Treadlife Warranty: 6 Years / 50,000 Miles (DT branded sizes only)

Workmanship & Materials Warranty: 6 Years / Free replacement first year or 25% of tread, then prorated to final 2/32" of tread.

I have a set of Toyo AT2's that are cracking after a year of use and at less then 25% ware. I'm going through the process now with Tirerack, hoping to get 100% refund towards some KO2 in DT.
