Best tuner for 2015 5.0
Hello Forum, I did some searching but didn't come up with much. Im looking for the best tuner for a 2015 F150-5.0, Im all stock no performance mods. I took a small trip to our cottage on the Chatauqua lake, its about 1 1/2 hr drive. Lot's of open hilly country roads and sharp slow curves. I had to keep stepping on it. I have 3.31s in and I'm looking for tuner to open her up and tighten up the shifting pattern in the 5.0 a little more. I had it in SPORT mode most the time. It was me, my wife and son in the truck. Also about 600 lbs of gear in the back. i want to run 33''s soon, but not unless i can get more power to turn them.
I don't want to re-gear because I've love the 3.31s most of the time. Thanks in advance

I would say there are 3 main ones
5 star, MPT, and Livernois
you can read about them.
Or buy an SCT and get a custom tune locally, if applicable
FWIW, I don't think the power increase is going to be enough to offset 33s if you are already having issues. But maybe the shifting would help, idk. You could drive in sport mode instead of getting a tune. If you knew you wanted 33s, you probably should have gotten a 3.55+.

I've yet to see any notable gains from any tuner/company for the 5.0...fyi, so you may want to save yer money. If yer just looking to play around with tranny shifting then you may want to go that route. Nothing I've seen on here impresses me enough to want to get a tune for my 5.0.

well, if you stay with a P rated tire, it should still be fairly lightweight. If you switch to a traditional LT A/T or M/T 33x12.50, you probably wont like the extra weight.
I think they are a few 33x11 ish P rated all terrains out there.

I'm not too interested in power gains or changing tire size (32's are big enough for me) and I'm not even sure the 1-2mpgs are really worth the price.

Then shift manually and downshift while braking so you'll be at the proper RPM to accelerate out of the corner. The 1+ second delay is always going to be there if the transmission has to downshift.

while not exactly apples to apples, I lock my Ram 8spd into 5th usually when I'm driving around town. To kill the cylinder shutdown and to stop it from shifting to 6th gear at 30mph. When you lock it out of the higher gears, it adjusts the shifting all around so it holds the lower gears longer, similar to the tow haul mode. Like for example, instead of shifting at 8mph into 3rd or something ridiculous, it wont shift into 3rd until like 15-18mph. It also downshifts a lot quicker that way too. Similar to sport mode on the ford I suppose.
You could try that, just manually shift down into 5th and see if it drives better around town. Maybe even 4th. Typically they are always trying to get into o/d and lock the converter as fast as possible when in the normal D setting. And once its there, it doesn't like to come out.
