I need to replace mine on my 2018 as well. On my 17 Ram, I replaced my worn out factory shocks with KYB Excel G, and they were fantastic for the price. Ride was very smooth (Rams already ride much smoother than F150s), and they are not expensive. When I get around to replacing the shocks on this truck, I'll be doing the same thing. I'll likely buy the rear shocks and the front struts with the springs already installed so I dont have to mess around with that. I live in Houston and last time I had a vehicle off road was 2017 when I got stuck on the beach in my 2wd truck. My truck is 100% city/highway miles and the roads in Houston are garbage.

I’ve had Rancho Quick lifts, Fox 2.0’s, and now Bilstein 6112/5160 setups. The Rancho’s were junk. I’d use the Fox’s again, but am happy with the Bilstein setup I have right now.

That is a conventional style shock inside a coil spring, more properly a coil-over. Struts are also coil-over shocks, but the shock is a major suspension piece that usually replaces 1 or both of the a-arms. KM

I feel like any bump in the road whether big or small rattles my truck and I feel everything. I want to have the shocks replaced but I’m not an expert at all when it comes to this stuff, Im somewhat ignorant to it. My truck is a daily driver, I do zero offroad, I want to keep stock ride height, I have Continental Highway tires, and Im just looking for something to soften the rattling and impact of going over bumps/potholes. I see alot of people recommend Fox and Bilstein and Ive aslo see some say replace with new stocks because aftermarket shocks are more for offroading. Could someone please assist given my driving situation I described. Thanks.
4600/5100 Bilsteins will no soften potholes, normal road bumps at all. I put four 5100s on my right away when new and just changed the fronts to Fox 2.0. I noticed a smoother city ride right away. As soft as stock? I cannot say, but softer than Bilsteins. I didn't want to spend the extra money on Fox at the time but wish that I had. The rears will be replaced in a week or so as well. Only 15k miles on the shocks but I am tired of the jittery feel, harsh impact of railroad tracks, etc.
