My Costco sells Interstate batteries. They have a 36 month warrantee and Costco does not have the ability to test the battery so mine gets returned every 32 months for a free replacement. They sell deep cycle marine batteries as well so I do the same with my boat.

Have not purchased a new battery in years. Only hassle is that my Costco stopped selling batteries so i have to go to the one on the other side of town.

So you take a perfectly good battery to Costco and exchange it for a free replacement because you know they can't prove that there is nothing wrong with your battery. That's fraud. And raises the costs for everyone else.

Found an interstate H6 from costco for $115. Question- since my truck is not auto start/stop and an XLT do I need an AGM battery? Or is it recommended to get AGM?

Just went through this with a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. Battery would not hold charge for more than a couple of days. I put an amp meter on the battery cable and could not really see much draw. Took it to dealer who had it for several days and came back and said bad battery even though it load tested good at Autozone. Dealer said they see AGMs self discharging when they start to go bad. I am not an expert but they replaced the battery and car has been fine ever since. They did it under warranty and replaced it with OEM.

Not knowing the climate he is in, his battery is 5 years old, he needs a new one. My 13 has been thru 3!

Oklahoma, so pretty rough climate. Can get extremely hot and extremely cold.

Just got back from autozone and installed a new battery, ended up getting a duralast gold h6 and everything works great now. Appreciate the help everyone.

How much is not much? Normal parasitic draw should be between 50 and 85 miliamps.

Pretty sure what's being communicated to us is that he lies to Costco and claims the battery is bad in order to cash in on the warranty, when he knows it isn't, which swindles Costco out of the cost of a new battery

Some people are okay with intentional dishonesty/cheating of others so long as they don't get arrested or fined for it (or if they are cheating a "big company" vs a single individual) while others don't care much for it on principle
