Behind the seat Subwoofer
#21
I’m starting to think I might as well just go underneath the seat for my subwoofer location. From what I’ve seen most people who put their subwoofers behind the seat can’t raise the bottom seat all the way up and still be able to play the sub so you might as well put one under the seat and just remove it when you need access to the floor.

Not pictured is a small panel I built to cover all the wiring.

I did the dual 8 JL ported box behind mine (Drivers side). Same issue that the bottom seat will not raise all the way, but I am OK with that

And yes, it's a sealed box. Made from 1/2 birch plywood, guled and screwed together.
If I had to build it again, I'd probably use fiberglass for the back, instead of wood, just to get a little more space inside.

KIcker makes a shallow mount loaded enclosure that fits perfectly behind the seat. I have the 8" version and it's perfect to fill enough bass in an otherwise stock system. There is a 10" version that also fits but it's tight, and a 12" version that I cannot verify if it fits or not.
