Default Bed-liner or Line X

I'm having a tough time making up my mind. I'm most likely getting the MX4 tonneau cover and I'm not sure which would make a better seal with the cover. Any advice would be great.

I have Line-X. I'm going to have to go around the bed and silicone a few places to have a true sealed bed.

My dad has a 12 with the put in bed liner, he's switching to Line-X on the next truck. Things slide around to easily. He does think it is pretty sealed in the bed area

My truck came with the drop-in liner. Don't like it for a number of reasons. First, accessing the bedlight switch or the tie offs requires pulling a rubber grommet. Second, stuff slides around too easily. Third, the bedliner moves a bit and rubs paint off.

Do you plan to remove the cover and drive around with a naked bed? If not, then who cares about the paint? You can't see it anyway.

Mine came with the liner too and is the same way underneath but I'll either put in a new liner or go with a spray-on next - either way I'm not concerned with the paint under it - it'll never be visible.

I do agree with the slippery cargo and rubber covers though - I'm not a fan of that either.

I have Line-X as well. I've found that things seem to slide around very easily in the bed. I always end up securing whatever I have back there.

I had a bed liner 2 trucks ago. Which was 17 years ago. Never again. Line X on the last one was as good as the day they did it 16 years later. Little faded but otherwise perfect. Had the dealer pull the bed liner that was already in the new truck and line X'd it the very next day. Great stuff. I love the look and feel of the bed rug but I haul stuff and it would never work.

The spray in might make a better seal than the drop in. I have the drop in with my G2 and there's a gap between where the liner goes over the front of the bed and the plastic cover over the top of the bed rails on each side. I took some of the adhesive foam that BAK includes for those without a drop in liner and used it to fill the gap. It seems to work well but I haven't had it in any heavy rains yet since I put the foam in. Before I did that there was some leakage, since there was a 1/4" gap on each side where the seal wasn't pressing down on anything.

However, one nice thing about the drop in liner is that if a little water does get in, it will just fill up the valleys of the ribs built into the liner. Your stuff sits on the peaks of the ribs and stays dry.......as long as there isn't too much water.

I actually have the Line-X and the bedrug on the bottom and tailgate. I ended up getting the bedrug a couple months after I had it sprayed. I absolutely love the bed rug with the Undercover flex tonneau cover. If I ever need to take the bedrug out, it's held down by velcro.
