I kept it bare with a bed mat until it started to show some scratches, then got the spray-in.

I have a Dual Liner and love it. I've had it for about a year now and it's holding up very well. The sides of the bed are a hard plastic like a drop in, and the bed is a thick rubber, both of which protect very well. If you're hauling dirt, I wouldn't get it. If you just have supplies/equipment/fun stuff in the bed, it's awesome. I've transported furniture, mountain bikes, household stuff, and my SWAT kit for work (multiple Pelican cases, hard storage, and more) without it showing any abuse. On top of that, the rubber keeps slick bottom stuff like Rubbermaid containers perfectly in place through normal driving so nothing slides out of reach.

The options for the 5.5' or 6.5' are both $400 shipped. The way I looked at it was that it was at least $200 less than the cheapest I found Line-X, and the last time I traded in a truck with Line-X the dealer didn't give me an extra dime for the spray in. This way, I can see if the dealer is going to give me anything specifically for that, then make the choice of leaving it in or selling it on my own if it won't work with the new one.

I've checked under the rubber mat after rain and the water doesn't seem to stay too long. It's a nice option and made in and shipped from the USA (Wisconsin).

If your truck is a hauler of occasional loads of dirt or gravel, spray in. I will never do that, mine is a camping and mostly just daily driver. Bedrug for the win! It rocks. Light, washable, comfortable to kneel on, and I was able to take it from my 18 and put it in my 19. Try that with a spray in.

I have an 08 that I bought new and had a generic spray-in liner put in within a month, it is nearly 11 years old now. The color has faded a little but honestly not bad. I have hauled lots of topsoil, landscape rocks, firewood, canoes, building supplies. Basically there are not many weekends that there is not something in the bed of my truck. I have a 2019 scheduled to be delivered mid-May and I will have a spray-in installed bythe end of May. My only decision will be which brand, really leaning towards Bullet Liner.
