Default Bed light switch and bed extender

The bed light switch is not easily accessible with the tonneau closed and bed extender. I know it can be turned on from inside the cab, but would prefer to do it with the switch in the bed. Anyone figure out a way to relocate the switch? Or, has someone created something to make this task easier? I’ve thought about drilling a 3/4” hole through the bed extender and using a pvc pipe to easily reach the button, but I’m thinking someone on this forum has found a better solution. Thank you.

It's even more difficult to turn on when the "idiots" LineX'ed over the freaken switch!!! Was looking to use the bed light the other night... was looking looking and looking! Have a toneau cover on!

Said I swear there was a switch back here while looking in the pitch DARK!!

Figured it out the next day when I could see. Going back to the LineX dealer this week and have a chat with him.......

Wow that is some impressive hack work. My linex dealer removed the switch first.

OP I don’t know if anyone has done it or not but relocating the switch wouldn’t be terrible. Just have to find a place and cut a square hole for it and extend the wires. Could probably even just find a round momentary switch and drill a small hole for it somewhere.

It sucks to have line x sprayed over the switch. The switch turns on and off very easily, but the bed extender makes the process very annoying. I will try drilling a hole through the bed extender this week and attach something to push the switch. Relocating the switch would be great, but I don’t feel comfortable doing this myself.

So, I drilled a 3/8” whole and inserted a plastic stick. The switch turns on/off easily. Next task will be to find a 1/2” aluminum or plastic rod to make it look a little nicer.

Sub'd so I can do whatever you awesome folks come up with lol. I love the bed extender (had the folding one in multiple F150's over the years) and love the bed lighting, unfortunately they don't work that great together by default.

I bought a piece of 3/8 pex pipe from Home Depot, rubber stopper, and a cap. This simple modification has made turning the bed light on/off very easy.
