Actually, I was basing it off you saying you haul 10" lumber some and wish the bed was longer than 6.5'. You're welcome.

You should have done voting buttons.
I have a screw 5.5 and I wish I'd have purchased the 6.5 ft instead. I need that extra foot about once a month.

I'd recommend the 6.5 but definitely would never want the super cab. I use the rear interior space carrying gear every weekend.

I've never hauled anything in my old 8' beds that don't also fit in my 5.5 now. Just hangs out a few more inches is all. I got by with a 4 ft sport trac bed for years and also hauled a ton of long lumber in it.

A 5.5' bed is not a bed. It's a lidless trunk.

Looking for a 6.5' bed Platinum in Blue Jeans at the moment. Only 6.5's at my go to dealers are White, which I am not opposed to, just would rather have the Blue Jeans or Ruby Red... Coming from Ram 2500 with 6+' and F250 previous to that...

My lidless trunk has hauled large chest freezers, 36" wide refrigerators, plywood, ladders, lumber, furniture, cab high trash and recycling, and who knows what else. Not once have I needed a longer bed, but if I needed to pick up 12+ft sheets of drywall then maybe.

I've seen '72 Monte Carlos doing the same thing, lol. Well, maybe not the 36" refrigerator. That required a Caddy or a Lincoln.
