I have the short bed and have been in several situations where the extension that folds back would have been great. I would want one that basically stays in one piece so when it is inside groceries could be held from sliding in the bed. Wondering what you have and how you like it?

OEM bed extender works great!

 

I have the OEM bed extender. Very versatile as it can be used for bed extender or grocery corral. And fold in for full bed access. I also have the bedtrend bed mat for added protection and cushion.

 

I built a box to house tools and whatnot from sliding in the bed but it doesnt work as a bed extension. Sounds like the OEM bed extension (what nohowtoplz showed) is the best of both worlds for you.
