Default Bed extender working clearance

Already have a truxedo bed cover & now looking to get a tailgate extender. When you rotate the extender 180deg (back into the bed) won’t it hit the cover cover rails?

The ford Oem plastic collapsible extender angles in and clears them. I’m not sure about solid ones.

Well, yeah, obviously it would. You would need to raise your bed cover to flip it back, but not, its not going to hit anything after its rotated.

This is correct. I just removed my OEM bed extender (not sure if I'll ever use it anyway) because while it's angled away from the side of the bed when flipped inward, it blocks the release latches for my bed cover. I have to wrestle it out of the way. So out it came.

Interestingly my truck came with the bed extender, bed cover, tailgate step, and bed side steps as factory options. I bought it used but figure it must've been a custom order.

Thanks El Barbon. I’ve wondered about this. I read 1 response that mentioned adding side spacers on the brackets. Sounded funny and could mean you have to buy a tube-in-tube style assembly - no thanks.

Will you be selling your bed extender or are you keeping it?

I'm not sure. I've been sitting here trying to think of a use I would have for it and not coming up with much. PM me so I'll have your name and I'll give it some more thought.
