Default Bed Divider

Can anyone comment on real world usage of the Ford bed divider? Other than the cost(atrocious), it seems that it's locked into one place, and between the divider and tailgate not a lot of room?

Quite nice but $$$. Not locked in place at all. You can fold it out of the way (and it really is pretty much out of the way) but it blocks access a bit to the bed light switch when stowed. Flopped over onto the tailgate it functions pretty well as a "bed extender" tho I wish it was a bit more squared off at the corners so more of the gate surface could be enclosed. As a divider in the bed it works to keep a generous amount of space for groceries etc. held up against the tailgate for easy loading unloading. If you don't connect the sections together, you can push them deeper into the bed area kind of like a giant claw to sort of divide things up into sections. Can be remove fairly easily with the correct tools, especially after the first time you break up the locktite. When working out of the bed, my Thermos coffee mug handle slides perfectly over the top of the gate, so I know where it is and it won't get knocked over!

Way to expensive for me to even consider. Value just isn't there...

Are you talking about the bed divider or bed extender? To me the divider doesn't look like it can be stowed as it appears to be a solid piece.

For the record - I just made one out of some scrap lumber. I chose to use the wheel well humps as my "stopping point" instead of the cleats.

I am talking about the bed divider, not bed extender.

Yes. However, I found no way to make a decent divider with them.
