Default Bed Cover

About to order a Truxedo Truxport roll up cover. Had the Bakflip Mx4 but honestly didnt love it - for what I use my truck for wondering if anyone has the truxport and what their opinions are on it? A lot of noise at highway speeds? Durability? Longevity?
I'm in and out of the bed too often and haul a lot of stuff requiring full bed space, that's why I didnt love the Mx4. Also, opening and closing the Mx4 as often as I do(multiple times a day) just became annoyin . Hoping the roll up fits what I'm looking for more.

I have had the bak flip and Lund roll up covers and currently have Tonneau pro that I got for under 200.00. For the money it does the job. Not sure what you do but if you have to roll up that often have you considered a retractable?

Ya I have considered it but for the cost of a retractable - especially after having already spent the money on the MX4 - I just feel like I could go with the roll up and be satisfied for a third of the cost.

I just installed a truxedo lo pro after looking at various options. I keep my trucks a long time, wanted something which would provide 99% bed access, easily removable (the rolled up cover) and had a great warranty.

I really didnt want a velcro cover because the one (not truxedo brand) I had 17 years ago I had to replace the velcro a few times.

After considering one piece, hard folding, retractable, etc, I had come full circle and decided the cover which would be most useful for me is the lo pro.

The lo pro has a lifetime warranty and looks great.

Truxedo makes a great product. I’ve had 3 on 3 trucks. Currently I have the x15 which is very lo profile and fabric like cover. So far, so good.

Side note, Truxedo shipped me free parts for my last cover when I lost the original clamps. Good folks over there.

I have the Lo Pro too and like it so far. A little wind noise at highway speed but it might be more noticeable for me because I’m driving a RCLB.
Also this is my first tonneau cover so I don’t have anything to compare it to

I have the Truxedo Truxport thats the OEM Ford one. I don't have any complaints with it. Ive done like 5 400 miles trips with it with no sound issues or anything that I could notice with it.

I have an Access cover on my f150. The one on my ranger is 15 years old and is still in great shape. I had no reason not to buy another.

I have had the Bak Revolver X4 hard roll up cover for about 2 years on my Tundra, not that impressed with it. It beats a loose fabric cover flapping a bit on the highway but their product leaves a bit to be desired, especially for the price. The fit at the tailgate end, the side seals, sharp edges on the rails at the tailgate. Lots of reports online about them getting real jammed up in the winter, some reports of the finish separating from the slats too. I wouldn't buy it again. It does lock / secure itself through the entire length of the cover which I liked.

For the F150 (soon to arrive), I ordered Truxedo Sentry CT. I was very close to buying the Pro X15, but I do like the hard roll up style. The CTs seem to be on sale right now for around $800 with an additional $100 rebate. There is something to be said about just using the basic fabric soft roll up style (like the Pro X15), simple, gets the job done, and a lot less cost.

X4 below

Funny you say that, I am researching for a cover to replace my Truxedo Truxport for the same reason but looking for a folding cover. What I do like about the Truxedo and the Lund Genesis I had on my last truck was that the bed stayed pretty dry other than the occasional car wash. I liked the clamps better on the truxedo but the Lund didnt sit up as high and I think had better velcro and thats the main reason I am wanting a hard cover now. If you dont walk around the truck and press down on the edges into the velcro everytime, it lets air in the sides and its like towing a parachute. You can feel the wind. I've pulled over a few times because of that. I am torn between the Extang Xceed over the MX4 or the Undercover Flex because of the opening handle is a **** instead of wire pulls, or for less money but less bed access I am considering the Rough Country Hard Fold. Xtang also makes a folding cover that is similar to the MX4 but is soft. Similar in that it can stand up on end the same way. Good luck in your decision!
