Battery Issue
Sorry, but that process no longer works. Main reason why Ford doesn't have an easier way to reset the BMS is because it only has parameters for the OEM/Motorcraft service battery. Ford prefers to obtain a replacement battery from the dealer. If replace the OEM battery from a different source/capacity it will have different operating parameters. In the grand scheme of things will not be an issue. If the battery doesn't become toast due to heat, heavy cycling, supplier mfg issue, customer abuse or a module KOL issue, long term life may be affected. I ultimately agree with tvsjr's recommendation on using a quality AGM battery with the best warranty/cost ratio for most people. I haven't decided yet what I'm doing with my truck, I'll be due for a replacement soon.
I was able to update my BMS with forscan very simple nothing hard to do. If you can install software on a PC and connect a bluetooth device you can find and reset you BMS without any fear.
Now I am in IT by career but shouldn’t be a problem for most anyone.
New battery holding charge without an issue.

Scantool XL with the enhanced Ford set might do it - I don't know I don't have the ford set.
But I have the GM set and it does do BMS reset on a modern GM. It's pretty through but not nearly as through as the paid Forscan.
I forgot about the XL, I agree with the Ford add on package likely will have capability.
