Default Base XL BCM for remote locks?

Thankful for all the good posts to help me maintain and improve my truck here.

I purchased a 2015 F150 XL regular cab. Zero options. Most of the standard cabs I find are base models. Holding out for a more equipped standard cab may have been a long wait. The reason I purchased a standard cab is that my garage length limits me to this configuration if I want to keep it warm in the winter (and in Alaska I do).

I’m trying to add some factory options. What I’m working on at the moment is factory power locks and windows. I have parts from a wrecked 2016 lariat - door wiring and hardware, modules, antennas, dash wire, floor wire, BCM, leather - the works. I’m having difficulty determining if the 2015 BCM from the base model will support power locks. I’d rather not use the lariat BCM because it is push to start, and also it requires programming new keys, etc. as I don’t have keys/fob from the Lariat. Also swapping the BCM in a dealer lot and finding one that is willing to do the IDS programming could be challenging. Also buying the factory fobs from them would be expensive. I would like to avoid this.

Can anyone tell me if the BCM from my 2015 BCM can be used for power locks? I know it would need forscan programming, and all the wiring will be a challenging, including keeping keyed ignition and electronic parking brake. Those issues are solvable. But will the XL BCM support power locks, including remote unlock? Does it have the internal relays? If so, could forscan add a keyed fob as my 3rd key even though my first two are just simple keys? I have used Forscan to add a third key to an escape, but it I wasn’t a “fobbed” model.

Please refrain from telling me to buy a different truck - I won’t find an optioned standard cab up here.

Thanks for the help.

Good luck with the upgrades, I have no clue how to help of if it can be done. I have a 2016 that's almost identical except I have a long bed and painted bumpers. Mine does have power windows/locks. I think it was the highest equipment group you could get in an XL at the time. I really wanted a supercab with the long bed but could not find one with the "high" equipment group. So I know what it's like to settle and do a few upgrades. What engine do you have?

I have the 3.5 NA. I prefer that as I don’t need the extra power or issues with EB. I would like painted or chrome bumpers but not worth the cost to me unless I find them cheap.

I wish it had more power options like yours, hence my question about the BCM above.

IIRC, the BCM should support it. not 100% on that though

I suspect you are right and I appreciate your input. I found a thread on this forum where a guy added OEM power door hardware and harnesses, and the dash wire. He could unlock the doors with the buttons on the doors, so it would indicate that the base BCM has the door lock relays present. I can’t imagine it would be worth it to Ford to leave those out of the few base models they sell. He didn’t get the remote to work but I suspect he didn’t get the antenna receivers and wiring to them worked out. But I can’t see that he needed a new BCM, or at least he didn’t mention it. I will probably forge ahead and let you all know how it turns out. It will be a bit before I get to it though.

Props to doing the upgrades, but 101A package XL trucks and parts are a lot easier to find. I would seriously try to make life easier and get those guts rather than fart with a Lariat setup if I was in that spot.

Heck, a power package XL truck dash harness may be the same as the 301A XLT.

Would you please post pictures for the parts involved ?
