Default Backup Warning

Truck was dirty. Wiped off sensors and rear lights for cross traffic sensing. No help. Had it washed. No help. Warning sound blaring. Any ideas?

Same thing happened to me this morning. Rained all day yesterday, was freezing overnight and this morning the sensors were constant and truck outlined in red. Wiped everything off, didn't fix it. Just got to work after a 40 mile drove and it's working fine now. Must've just been a thin layer of ice all over the truck. Odd that you've washed it and it's still happening. Is it cold where you live?

Strange, I just had the same thing happen. Once it dried off I was left with one (passenger side rear) that continued to show an obstacle in the "yellow zone" despite there being nothing covering it or the connector. It too, eventually went away.

Posted often. Usually goes away when sensors warm and ice is gone. Some pack dialectic grease on the connectors (inside bumper) to prevent.

Did you try to shut it off and restart it?

Sensors are just cold. This is a many morning occurrence until it warms up. I really question how they cold weather tested this truck.

This has been an issue on this truck and every vehicle I have owned with these sensors. I chalk it up to the unfortunate reality of a cold climate. Usually goes away in a couple of hours and always goes away after a night in the heated garage.

I can tell you for last week our highs have been at 0 or below (-10) getting in and leaving work in the afternoon and I have never had one sensor go crazy, so Im not sure its the cold

My 2006 F150 had these and there was never a problem unless there was visible ICE or mud on the sensor. But my 2016...the driver side corner is constantly a problem. I am going to get mine dried out this weekend (when I can get it inside) and saturate it with silicone spray and then see what happens.
